Let's begin by wishing all the marvellous black moggies and the humans who love them, a very Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! Today is a celebration of these wonderful felines and acknowledgment of their loving companionship. It's an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges they face due to a bias that persists based largely on outdated superstitions and unfounded beliefs. Sadly, this bias contributes to lower adoption rates and a higher risk of euthanasia. Today (and every day), is an opportunity to promote the magic of black cats and dispel the myths casting a shadow over them. Black cats have unique personalities like any other cat - they can be playful, affectionate, mischievous and mysterious, and are just as deserving of a loving home. So, let's give our super kitties, regardless of colour, an extra big hug today, and if you're seeking a feline companion or an addition to your clowder, perhaps you'd like to consider welcoming a beautiful black cat into your family!
